
Selah Movement School of Dance – Terms and Conditions
By enrolling at Selah Movement School of Dance, both the parent/guardian and student agree to abide by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read carefully.

DANCE ETIQUETTE
-
Arrive 10–15 minutes early to prepare and warm up.

If another dance lesson is in session, please wait quietly in the waiting area.
-
If you are running late, please message the teacher via the WhatsApp portal. Upon arrival, wait for instructions before entering the studio.
-
After 15 minutes, the studio doors will close to minimise disruptions.
-
If your dance lesson is over and you wish to wait around in the foyer or outside, please be quiet and respectful while the other dance lessons are in session.

WARM-UP
Warming up before your dance lesson is essential and falls under the responsibility of the dancer. Warming up helps to reduce the risk of injury by loosening the muscles and preparing the body for movement.

CHOREOGRAPHY
All choreography and music edits remain the intellectual property of Selah Movement School of Dance and must not be replicated or reproduced without permission.

FEES AND INVOICES

Invoices will be issued 1–2 weeks before the start of each term.

All invoices must be paid in full within 3 weeks of the invoice date.

A $20 late fee per week will be automatically applied to overdue invoices.
-
Repeated overdue payments may result in suspension or expulsion.

Payment plans are available upon request and approval—please contact us to discuss this.

If you are aware of any dates that you or your child cannot attend, please notify us before the term starts so we can adjust your invoice accordingly.

STUDIO INFORMATION AND UPDATES
All students and parents/guardians are responsible for staying informed about current and upcoming dance school information. We provide several communication channels to keep you updated, including:

Please ensure you check your emails and WhatsApp regularly, as these are our primary platforms for important updates and announcements.

CANCELLED LESSONS
If a class is cancelled, a make-up lesson will be arranged at the earliest convenience.
​
STUDENT EXPULSION
Student expulsion may occur at the discretion of the Principal and will be considered under serious or repeated breaches of these terms.
​
ANNUAL ENROLMENT FEE
A non-refundable $35 enrolment and administration fee is payable upon enrolment, regardless of the time of year.
​
REFUNDS AND CATCH-UP LESSONS

No refunds will be given for missed lessons.
-
Catch-up lessons may be offered within the same term at the discretion of the Principal.

In cases of chronic illness or injury, a credit may be applied upon the student’s return.

ANNUAL DANCE PERFORMANCE
Selah Movement School of Dance hosts an annual dance performance to showcase the dedication and growth of our students. All students are invited to be involved in this event.

Participation requires full commitment to class attendance and rehearsal schedules.
-
Students may not withdraw from performance preparation once committed, as it impacts the other dancers involved.

EXTRA REHEARSALS & COSTUME FEES
-
Costume fees are a separate expense from term fees and apply to all performance participants.

Costume fees are on-refundable.
-
Any additional rehearsals will be communicated in advance and may incur extra charges. We try our best to keep costs as low as possible for families.
​
BALLET EXAMS
-
Ballet exams are offered in the Cecchetti Method. Students will be invited to sit their exam at the teachers discretion.

Exams are held in Brisbane annually.

Students preparing for exams must attend two ballet lesson per week and must commit to their ballet lessons. Extra practice from home is encouraged.

Mock exams are offered.

ALLERGIES AND MEDICAL CONDITIONS
Please inform your teacher of any allergies or medical conditions (e.g., asthma), or other relevant health information upon enrolment.

PHOTOS & VIDEOS

Photos and videos may be taken by staff during dance lessons for marketing purposes (e.g., social media, website, flyers). If you do not wish for you or your child to be included, please notify us in writing.

Parents/guardians are not permitted to take photos or videos of students during dance lessons to protect the privacy and safety of all dancers. This includes recording through windows or doors.

Students must not post class content or choreography online without permission from the Principal.

MOBILE PHONES
Mobile phones must be on silent and are not to be used during class time.
​
PICK-UP & DROP-OFF

Students under 16 are not permitted to leave the studio unaccompanied.

A parent/guardian must collect students from inside the studio and notify the teacher at pickup.
​
PARENTS & GUARDIANS
-
Parents/guardians are not permitted inside the studio during class. Please understand this is very distracting, especially for our little ones.

You may wait outside or observe through the designated viewing window.
-
Parents/Guardians are invited to watch the final dance lesson of each term.
​
LOST PROPERTY
Selah Movement School of Dance is not responsible for lost or stolen items. The studio is a hired venue and shared with other organisations—please take all your belongings with you.
​
PRIVATE MENTORING LESSONS

If you are unable to attend your private lesson, please give at least 4 days' notice.
-
A $25 fee applies to late cancellations to cover studio and staffing costs.​
​
DANCE ATTIRE
Uniforms can be purchased from:​​
Dance Jam in Nambour or Showtime Dancewear in Maroochydore. Please inform the staff of your level of ballet and they can direct you to our uniform. Uniform list.

Contemporary Uniform:

Full-length leggings or fitted exercise pants
-
Selah Movement School of Dance T-shirt
-
Grip socks, socks or foot thongs
